Spring and summer 2011

HI!
I travelled a lot douring spring and summer. Here is some photos and notes from Spain, Azores and Italy.

 SPAIN (May)

Let's get social- group from Valkeakoski visited Jaen and Torredonjimeno. We felt ourselves very welcome.

These ladies are Spanish flamenco dancers. Never seen such performance in live.

These ladies are from Valkeakoski and they are dressed as flamenco dancers. Nice! They borrowed those costumes from our Torredonjimeno friends.

We visited also Museo del Prado. We saw some Maja paintings by Francisco de Goya. Naked and dressed. Cool.

Azores (July)

This is a volcano caldera. Double lakes, a blue one and a green one. Very beautiful.

Perhaps the most delicious fish meal ever. All the flavors were in place. The fish had a strange name. Two minutes after our entrance and the restaurant was full. Awesome timing.

These are the hot sulfur springs maturing corn. I bought one and it was delicious. I would have left without buying if I have had seen how they are made.

Italy (July)

Civita di Bagnireggio.
Civita was founded by Etruscans over twenty-five hundred years ago, but has seen its population dwindle to just fifteen residents over course of 20th century.
It was a scary walk into the city along a high footbridge. Civita is crumbling slowly down. Wonderful place.

Europ's highest waterfall Cascata delle Marmore. The Romans made the waterfall. It is 165 meters high, and the highest man-made waterfall in the world.

What else?

What else did I do? I dove several times and got AOWD card. Dear me. The next target is Mexico and Cancun in Yucatan peninsula.

A visit to Italy February 2011

Group Valkeakoski left for Italy the 19th February. Me and eight ladies :). First we flew to Riga and from there to Milan. From Milan by train to Adria. We travelled about 12 hours.

This is our hotel Leon Bianco.

We visited Comaccio “The little Venice”, Ferrara , Padova and Venice. We saw a lot of Italian coutruside, buildings and fields, but no forests.

These are the canals of Comaccio.

This is a very large piazza in Padova. The weather was about + 10 C degrees. An ideal weather for tourism.

The Venice! Amazing city. I have visited in Venice once before. The city looked the same as about 35 years ago :).

Group Valkeakoski wants to thank all you wonderful people we met during our visit. THANK YOU. See you in Spain. We are already looking forward that visit.
